Having a blind and deaf dog may be challenging for some, especially if you are in the adjustment phase. Nevertheless, their disabilities will not change the way they love you.

Perhaps, one of the challenges that some owners face is waking up their dog. The usual rule is you should not do it abruptly. Otherwise, the dog may get stressed or anxious.

One guy online has shown everyone how he wakes up his blind and deaf dog. And it is truly heartwarming and emotional. If this does not make you tear up even a little bit, we don’t know what will.

Aiden Mann and his dog Plum are from Tennessee. Aiden works as a veterinary assistant, and he has adopted dogs. One of them is Lola, a mix of Great Dane and Staffordshire bull terrier. The other is Plum, a small Australian shepherd that was born deaf and partially blind.

Initially, Aiden was hesitant about adopting a dog with special needs. But meeting Plum, who was under the care of a co-worker, for the second time convinced him otherwise.

With lots of trials and errors, Aiden said that he and Plum learned to communicate. Currently, he is helping Plum to learn commands through touch signals.

According to Aiden, finding a way to wake her dog up is a challenge. He tried petting Plum gently, but still, she would get surprised. He even would even put a treat under Plum’s nose to no avail.

Aiden has found a way and he demonstrates it via TikTok. First, he would slightly blow on Plum. Though she gets surprised at first, Plum would feel Aiden. Then, Plum would want “all the love.” The video then shows Plum cuddling with Aiden.

Everyone online went “Awwww!”

Netizens have found the video truly cute, heartwarming, and emotional all at the same time. The comments section is full of supportive messages for Plum. Even the TikTok account of The Chainsmokers has reacted positively to the video.

Within just five days, the video has received more than 50 million views and 12.5 million likes.
