A couple from Ukraine has an extreme desire to travel, and it has always been their dream to visit Asia. When they got the chance, they went to India to explore the beauty that the said country has to offer. As soon as they arrived, they surely had a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they would never forget.

The couple went to Kochi, India, and that was where they met Chapati, a helpless dog who is also on the verge of dying. The couple who also has a soft spot for animals took care of Chapati who later on became the couple’s forever buddy. They never imagined that their trip to India would lead to them meeting a stray dog, but this surely is a blessing for them.

Eugene Peterus and his partner, Kristina Masalova decided to travel out of their home country with high hopes that they can lead to their “dream place.” When they reached Kochi, they knew that the experience would be different from their previous travels.

They were on their third day in the area when they saw the poor and helpless puppy – starved, sick, and severely dehydrated. The couple knew that the dog would die if it would not receive urgent medical help.

Given the couple’s big heart for helpless animals, they brought the dog with them and had her checked up by a vet. They spent time and effort in looking after the dog. They helped the dog fully recover and also assisted her until she was able to walk all by herself.

All the efforts that the couple poured in for this dog did not come to waste. The dog is now a cheerful, healthy, and playful dog. Instead of putting the dog for adoption, the couple just decided to take her and considered her as if she is their child. They also named her Chapati, which was derived from the couple’s favorite Indian bread.

The dog is now busy traveling with her adoptive parents all over Asia. The couple is glad that their passion for traveling served as a way for them to help a poor dog in need. They also hope that their story would inspire others to do the same.
