Dogs are completely honest about how they feel. When a dog bonds with a human, you can be sure that it’s going to be a friendship that will last their entire life. Dogs are incredibly loyal, and they will never judge a person. As long as we treat our pet dogs right, they will return the love ten times over.

A boy named Jonny Hickey knows what it’s like to have a dog as a best friend. Jonny is a special child. He has autism, which makes him a little different from other kids. Although Jonny’s family loves him so much, and he has amazing teachers, he doesn’t interact with people.

Jonny’s autism has left him feeling isolated and closed off. He has trouble interacting with other people, and situations that are unfamiliar to Jonny can trigger tantrums and fear. After spending a day at school, Jonny keeps to himself and spends hours playing with marbles and other toys that interest him.

Jonny’s isolation and social awkwardness changed when he met Xena. Xena is a rescue dog with a traumatic past. Before Xena was rescued, she was physically abused by her previous owner. Rescued as a puppy, Xena was on the brink of death. Xena was all skin and bones when she was rescued.

Thankfully, Xena started to recover after she was rescued. Eventually, Xena was adopted by Jonny’s family. Jonny’s mom, Linda, fell in love with Xena the first time she saw the puppy on the internet. Linda thought that Xena would be a great addition to the family.

Linda was right. When Jonny and Xena met, they instantly bonded. With Xena by Jonny’s side, he became a lot more social and talkative. Jonny’s a lot more social thanks to Xena. Dogs don’t judge people, and in the case of Xena, she doesn’t care if Jonny’s a little different from other people. All Xena knows is Jonny is a friend and that they both adore each other. Here’s a heartwarming video about the special friendship between a puppy and a special child.
