Josh Fiorelli, a Deputy Sheriff in Osceola County, was surprised to get instantly famous. His photo with a dog spread over the internet and it has melted thousands of pet lover’s hearts.
Last December 2018, Fiorelli received unexpected online attention because a photo of him comforting a dog after an accident was posted in social media.
Carlos Irizzy, a passerby, snapped his photo while comforting the pup and since then, people praised the deputy’s kindness.
Fiorelli didn’t own the dog but the police officer still stayed beside the pooch because it had a car accident. Fiorelli wanted to soothe her while waiting for animal control to arrive. They are waiting for the staff to give the poor pup medical attention.
According to Irizzy, it’s not every day that you see something like this.
Fiorelli said that he wanted to be someone who can comfort the dog because it was cold, wet and alone. He didn’t know that someone watched while he talked to the pooch. He was really surprised to see his photo spread all over the internet and he received lots of praises because of his kindness and compassion.
Here are some of the Facebook posts and comments that Deputy Fiorelli received:
Unfortunately, the pup can’t be recognized because it doesn’t have a microchip nor a collar. Fiorelli stated that it would have been easier to find the owner if there’s anything to identify the pooch or its owner. They would also be responsible for helping the dog get surgery and other medical assistance.
With or without owner, Fiorelli was willing to take care and comfort the dog. He realized that he could the pup needed someone to stay beside it.
Fiorelli added that dogs might be a small part of people’s lives, but to dogs, we are their whole life. This is how dogs are towards their humans.
PETA wanted to share their appreciation with Fiorelli. They decided to send some vegan cookies along with a framed certificate to the Sherrif’s Office of Osceola County.
Credits to Osceola County’s Sherrif’s Office for posting this adorable photo.
