There’s a saying worldwide that claims we, humans, are scared of what we don’t understand. That’s the reason we hoomans are fans of ranking, labeling, and categorizing.
That behavior’s also evident in the canine community, and this story will prove its authenticity. Meet this adorable Shiba Inu who encountered a new toy.
He’s not a stranger to toys, but this one’s different. It’s stuffed like all the rest, but it talks back. What’s more, it mimics what he says, only in an annoying, high-pitched manner.
This pet dog wasn’t going to let things slide, and since he thought he was being disrespected and threatened, he barked with all his might.
The small puppy didn’t even flinch; it did what he did in that sing-song voice that grated on the Shiba Inu’s nerves. Of course, that got him madder.
He wasn’t gonna let this little slip of a dog upstage him, so he barked longer and louder. Again, the pup didn’t even blink, and he went on to imitate the disgruntled Shiba.
The pet dog’s owners had an idea, and they placed the toy as close as they could to the Shiba. Will he attack or not? The pet dog whimpered; so did the toy pup.
That got the incredulous doggo thinking about whether this little one was a threat or not. Perhaps the Shiba noticed that he got back exactly what he threw at it, which gave him pause.
That’s a great realization, pet; sometimes, we look at the world with such idealistic eyes, unmindful of our own actions. Perhaps now, we’ll look at what we do that gets the kind of response we receive.
Here’s to more wonderful times ahead, pup. Never forget that you have a heart of gold and that what you give out comes back to you.
