Joshua is an officer in the New York Police Department. He may not have gone out looking for a dog in need of serious and immediate help, but that is exactly what he found.

Joshua was inside a building that had been abandoned for a simple investigation. As he made his way upstairs, he came across something that he was not expecting in any way. He found a pit bull that was chained to the wall.

This pit bull was clearly in bad shape. The poor dog was on such a short chain that she only had room to stand up, but she did not have any room to move around more than that. On top of her short chain, she was inside a room only the size of a crate making her movement even more difficult.

Not only was her movement extremely limited, but she was clearly extremely hungry as well as bored. The wall next to her had been chewed up as a result of her neglection. You could also see her ribs.

Joshua was not willing to allow this pit bull to stay here. The pup was only about eight months old. Joshua says he could see in her eyes that she was thankful for the help he was offering her.

Joshua decided to bring her to the ASPCA to improve her current state of health. As soon as her health was brought back to what it should be, Joshua was able to take her home and name her Mila. Joshua talks about how much they both needed each other, and they are both very lucky to have been able to find each other.

It is lucky that there are people like Joshua willing to save a dog in need!

Thank you to the NYPD via YouTube for this video.
