We, humans, wanted the same thing when we grow old. We want to be comfortable in a home we can call our own. Dogs, like us, want the same thing. But sadly, not every dog has a definite retirement home once they become old.

Milo is now nine years old. He doesn’t have much energy left anymore compared to when he was still a puppy. But like any younger pup, his heart is always full of love.

Milo’s owner surrendered him to the Los Angeles City East Valley Animal Shelter a few days back. He has an ear infection and is enduring pressure sores on his hip. Thanks to the caring hands of his shelter friends, he’s receiving adequate medical care to manage his condition.

According to the notes provided by Milo’s previous owner, the senior German shepherd mix lived almost his entire life outdoors. He slept in the garage and never knew what a comfortable bed was. And he could use some help and a little love right now.

Milo is a neutered male that weighs about 99 pounds. He arrived at the shelter on January 11, 2020, and has since been waiting for the perfect family to come and get him. He is a sweet, gentle giant that will make a great addition to any family that would open their home to him.

Milo may be old, but he is such a sweet guy. He will do best in a home where he has a company all day long. He can be timid at times but warms up quickly as soon as he gets to know you.

Anyone interested in adopting Milo can reach out to the Los Angeles City East Valley Animal Shelter for further information. He didn’t have much in his younger years. It’s time we give him the life that he has always deserved.
