Jill Paukstis was on the internet one day when she came across a video of an 11-year-old dog. This dog was behind bars in animal control.

The dog had such sad eyes, but she had a smile plastered on her face. It was the cutest smile Jill has ever seen.

The smiling dog, Poe, has been with animal control for quite a while. Jill knew that it would be difficult to put her up for adoption because of her age.

Jill also knew that she needed to help Poe live the rest of her life happily. And she did.

Poe is now 18 years old and still has the spunk of a puppy. She still enjoys playing games. Poe may act like a puppy, but she has a motherly instinct. Her motherly instinct usually shows when she takes care of her siblings, Penny and Finn.

Poe would always lick her siblings clean before they go to daycare. That is her way of taking care of her siblings, and Jill has always found this adorable. Poe is an amazing big sister to Penny and Finn.

Since adopting Poe, Jill has become very appreciative of senior dogs. She thought that she would have Poe for only a short time, but she’s very grateful that Poe has been with her for years. Jill feels that her family has been blessed because of Poe.

Adopting Poe was very fulfilling for Jill. She realized how satisfying it is to adopt a senior dog.

Jill is encouraging others to do the same. She wants other people to give senior dogs a chance. They are very low key, which makes them easy to take care of.

Because Jill gave Poe, a senior dog, a chance, he is now living the best life. She is safe and happy. Poe is where she belongs.
