Dog owners sometimes have an emergency, and when this happens, often we don’t have the time to call a dog-sitter. And at times like this, we often wish that there are some ways we can compromise so that we can attend to the urgent matter without worry.
I remember getting all concerned and anxious when a crisis suddenly presented itself, and I was with my dog outside. We don’t mean to feel burdened or overwhelmed by the responsibility we have to our dogs, but this troubles us at certain events.
So what happens when you’re outside, and you had to step out of your car for a moment? Things can get drastic. We cannot just leave our dogs inside a locked vehicle, because first of all, it is not safe for our dogs. What with all the heat and suffocation that might occur.
Thankfully, we aren’t all alone with this dilemma, we all love our dogs, but sometimes there are just some circumstances that we can’t help. Right? Luckily, a Tesla fan and owner reached out via Twitter to Elon Musk, and this is where the idea for the Dog Mode came.
Can you put a dog mode on the Tesla Model 3. Where the music plays and the ac is on, with a display on screen saying “I’m fine my owner will be right back”?

Ostensibly, Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk saw this and chose to rectify this situation by granting this feature to those people who own his cars. The Dog Mode’s function allows the owner to regulate the temperature inside the vehicle; they can access this option through the climate control menu.
Once activated, a flash on the screen would read “My owner will be back soon.” to reduce getting panic from passers-by who might see the dogs locked inside a vehicle.
I think this is an excellent car-function to have as a backup. But I firmly believe that we should hold off frequently using this feature as the dogs deserve so much better treatment than getting left inside the car. Watch the introduction of the Dog Mode below:
