A woman named Lucy Brown was affected by NEAD or Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder. Lucy’s condition resulted in her experiencing more or less 100 seizures per day. It’s a debilitating condition that affected Lucy’s life.
Lucy had to quit her job, and she lost her freedom because of her condition. Lucy became depressed because she became dependent and had to move back in with her parents to look after her whenever she experiences seizures. At that time, Lucy became attached to a dog named Freddie.
Despite having no training at all, Lucy and her family discovered that Freddie reacts whenever Lucy was going to have a seizure. Freddie would lick Lucy and paws at her to get Lucy to regain consciousness. Freddie proved to be such an intelligent dog that he even learned to warn Lucy whenever she was going to have a seizure.
Dogs have a keen sense of smell. Freddie may be able to recognize a change in Lucy’s body chemicals, which usually causes seizures. Before Lucy loses consciousness, Freddie would warn Lucy, and Lucy has ample time to prepare to protect herself from hitting her head when she loses consciousness.
Freddie saved Lucy’s life countless times, and Freddie also helped Lucy get some of her freedom back. It’s incredible how dogs like Freddie can make a difference in people having a condition like Lucy’s. Here’s a heartwarming video telling how Freddie gave Lucy her life back.
